The Book Fair

 

DATE: December 2, Friday - December 7, Wednesday

 

FAMILY NIGHT:  December 7, 6:00-8:00pm

The annual Bates Book Fair is both a PTO fundraiser, and an opportunity for students and their families to purchase new books. The Book Fair will be held in the Bates library, and there will be a wide assortment of books on sale for children and adults.  During Book Fair week, students will visit the Book Fair during their library period. (Class times listed below.)  PLEASE NOTE:  This year the 4th graders will be going to the book fair on Tuesday, Dec 6th NOT on their regularly scheduled library day.

 


PAYMENT:  Books may be purchased with credit cards, cash or checks.  (Checks should be made payable to “Bates PTO”—we can fill in the amount, or you can make the check out for a set amount, and we will make change.  A credit card authorization form can be printed from the following link.  Please CLICK HERE for a credit card form.  Fill out the form, and return it in your child’s folder.)

 

If your child does not bring payment on the day he/she visits the Book Fair, a parent volunteer will help him/her fill out a “Wish List” and bring it home.  You may also meet your child during scheduled Book Fair library time, or shop the Book Fair at any time during opening hours.

 

BOOK DONATIONS:  There is also an opportunity to donate books to your child’s class.  Each teacher will have a “Classroom wish list.”  Each donated book will be labeled with a Donor Bookplate, identifying your child or family as the donor.

 

1 FOR BOOKS DRIVE:   All money donated to the 1 for Books drive will be used to purchase books for the Bates library, and for every dollar raised, Scholastic will donate a book to Toys for Tots.  Donation boxes will be located next to the registers.

 

FAMILY NIGHT will be held in the gymnasium on December 7th at 6pm with a special performance by Mr. Ieong and the Bates’ teachers and staff.  The 5th Grade will provide gift wrapping and sell refreshments to raise funds for Grade 5 events.
