New Family Coffee
New families are invited to kick off the year with coffee, a meet-and-greet, and a tour led by the principal, with the New Family Coordinator available for questions.

Back to School Night
An evening for parents to meet with the faculty, learn about the curriculum, and explore classroom events in two sessions (K-2 and 3-5), with a message from the principal.
Grade Socials
A fun evening social hosted by one family in each grade. They’ll choose the date and ask everyone to bring either an appetizer or a dessert—an ideal way for parents, especially newcomers, to connect.

5th Grade Pumpkin Brigade
Our 5th graders haul pumpkins into the gym, making sure we are stocked for the Pumpkin Fair.
Halloween Parade
Kids parade in their Halloween costumes while parents enjoy hot coffee provided by the PTO.

Jingle Jam
A winter-themed holiday dance for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders, hosted by PTO Family Events.
Bates Ski & Ride Weekend
A weekend of skiing, riding, or relaxing slopeside for Bates families, featuring an optional itinerary of meet-ups, activities, and a community dinner with kids' entertainment.

SPRING EVENTS
100th Day of School
Celebrated in early February, Kindergarteners and 1st graders participate in an "around the world" morning, rotating through activities focused on the number 100, like games, art, and math.
Bates in Bloom
Held in mid-March, this event showcases Bates students' progress with displays of student artwork and classroom projects for families to enjoy.

Bates Mini Marathon
In early April, the Bates community runs laps to support Friends of Wellesley METCO. The 2025 event will mark the 14th annual Mini Marathon.
Artstravaganza
Every other spring, students collaborate on performances showcasing their talents in music, dance, and art.
Science Fair
Also held every other spring, students present their self-led projects and scientific discoveries in the gym, cafeteria, and library.

Bates Family Picnic
At the end of the school year, families gather for a relaxed picnic with food trucks, dancing, and games.
